He is not watching the sky. He is remembering it.

Surrounded by pressed flowers, drifting leaves, and stars that have wandered down from somewhere higher, the eagle sits in perfect stillness — his gaze turned upward with the quiet authority of one who has already seen everything worth seeing and chosen, for this moment, to simply be present. His feathers hold colors that don’t belong to any single world: deep brown and midnight blue, flashes of teal and amber, as though the earth and sky both had a hand in making him.

Around him, the world blooms and scatters. Dahlias and dandelions, maple leaves and ferns, blue stars drifting like thoughts through a luminous sky. Nothing is still. Everything is alive.

And yet he is the stillest thing in the painting.
